Saturday Night Blues (album)

''Saturday Night Blues'' is a compilation album of recordings by Canadian blues performers, released by Stony Plain Records and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation in 1991.〔(Saturday Night Blues - Various Artists ) at allmusic.com. Retrieved 2010-11-28.〕 Subtitled "The Great Canadian Blues Project, Volume 1", the album is significant as one of the early compilations of the work of Canadian blues artists.〔Another example of a compilation of this nature, released at a similar time, is the 1992 cassette-only release by K-Tel Records, ''Canadian Blues Masters''. Included on the release are songs by The Downchild Blues Band, The BelAirs, Long John Baldry, The Powder Blues Band, Dutch Mason, King Biscuit Boy, Amos Garrett, Morgan Davis, The Blues Busters, The Demons and Neil James Harnett. See (Particulars of ''Canadian Blues Masters'' ); www.worldcat.org.〕 The album won the 1992 Juno Award for Best Roots and Traditional Album of the Year.〔A successor album, ''Saturday Night Blues: 20 Years'', was released in 2006.〕
